The Bobby-Car® is a ride-on toy car for children aged 1 and over. It is produced by the German toy company BIG®. With more than 16 million vehicles sold, the Bobby-Car is the most successful push-powered ride-on toy car world wide.

The original model is red and sold since 1972. It is now referred to as BIG-Bobby-Car Classic. In 2004 a new model with a slighly revised design was brought onto the market, the New BIG-Bobby-Car (see photo).

Ride-On Toy Car for Children

The Bobby-Car was invented in order to help children learn to walk. On its seat child can sit on as on a motorcycle. By swinging the legs, the child can move the car.

Riding the Bobby-Car is not only fun but also positively supports the development of the child's hips.

For bigger children there is a groove for the knee in the middle of the seat. They can kneel with one leg on the car while using the second leg to push themselves.

Differences between New and Classic versions

The Classic version was originally designed in 1972 and since has not changed. In 2005 a New version came onto the market. Thew New version has a revised design with even more rounded edges. Both versions have the comfortable seet, foot rests and a groove for the knee.

However, the New version additionally has a "secret compartment" under the speedometer. This compartment can be replaced with other BIG accessories available, such as the BIG Easy Touch for sounds or the BIG Sound Starter.

Also does the New-Bobby-Car come with "Whisper Wheels" fitted while the Classic version has the classic plastic wheels.

The Bobby-Car is a robust car, manufactured in Germany and designed to last for many years. As all of BIG's products it has been certified by TÜV®, Germany's rigid health and safety testing service. BIG's products come with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
